Puppy Intermediate SUNDAY (6 weeks)

Service Description

Puppy Intermediate classes are perfect for puppies who have either completed Puppy Foundation or have had 1-1 training and covered the foundation syllabus. Puppies are welcome up to 24 months of age at the start of class. This course runs for 6 weeks for an hour each week (4.30-5.30pm) with a weeks break on Sunday 20th April. So your puppy has learnt the foundation skills. What now? As a puppy enters their junior or adolescent stage of life, it can feel like all your hard work and training has fallen on deaf ears! Hormones can be hitting an all-time high and confidence levels can be sporadic. They don't come back when called? Easily distracted? Suddenly fearful of things that never bothered them before? Have excess energy and sleep less? Feels like they've forgotten all that they've been taught? Meeting other dogs can be challenging with either over excitement or over dominance? Sound familiar? You may have a mini or fully fledged furry teenager on your hands! It is a phase, albeit a challenging one, so let's try and get you both through it with some extra skills to keep your junior pup on the right track. During the classes, we will continue to nurture your growing puppy's mind and confidence levels whilst maintaining and further developing life-long social skills. With ever-increasing distraction levels within a group class environment, your puppy will gradually develop their skill set, which will help them retain some listening skills when needed. Lead work, listening skills, impulse control, manners (both in the house and out 'n' about), fun games to encourage bond, socialisation, settling down when prompted and everything else in between! Your puppy won't have forgotten all you have taught them, they just need reminding how to use those newly learnt skills. Whilst nature and their ever-exciting environment lures them in different directions, the techniques you will learn in Puppy Plus will help both you and your pup keep in tune with one another and your training on track.
